President’s Welcome

Greetings and Welcome to KAPPP – Kansas Association of Public Purchasing Professionals!  KAPPP is excited you have chosen to be a member of our elite group.  Whether you are a renewing member or new member, we are happy you have decided to join us for 2017.

Your KAPPP Board members are hard at work this year making improvements to the website and securing NIGP Classes and Speakers for membership meetings.

Please take a hot minute and go to KAPPP.org website.  You will find a variety of NEW and exciting information about KAPPP and other Public Purchasing Chapters in our area.  Items to look for include on-line payments for membership and meeting registration fees.  We are expecting to be able to provide the same for our vendors with the RFV – Reverse Vendor Fair coming in May.  Keep an eye out for updates on the website for up and coming events for KAPPP as well.

A BIG Thank You to our VP, Wendi Frisbie and Kimberly Bush who just accepted the Web Manager Position for all their hard work to get PayPal set up for on-line payments! J

The KAPPP Board has joined forces with our colleagues (MACPP & MAPPP) to organize NIGP classes and speakers which relate more to Procurement for members to attend.  The cost for the classes and speakers can be expensive, but the KAPPP Board feels it is important to be able to offer them to our members.  By providing classes to members, it allows them to obtain certification, recertification and/or a refresher course for a particular subject. KAPPP understands times are tight with funding and being shorthanded in our government agencies, but we are hoping members will be able to attend more often in 2017. Carpooling is a good way to save money when driving to these events and the networking on the way is priceless!   Don’t forget there are scholarships available to help with the cost to attend classes and meetings.

Below you will find some important dates you will want to add to your calendar right away!

SAVE THE DATES:

  • Spring Meeting – March 10th in Olathe
  • RVF/Membership Meeting – May 10th in Topeka
  • NIGP Forum – August 27-30 in Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Annual Meeting – December 8th in Wichita

Your KAPPP Board is here to help its members, please feel free to contact any one of us with questions or any suggestions you may have.

Thank you again for deciding to be a part of the KAPPP community and I hope to see ALL of your faces at our gatherings!  J
