Submission Process

Any KAPPP member or officer may submit a nomination. Multiple nominations are allowed, and members are encouraged to recognize outstanding contributions by their peers.

  • Complete the nomination form with all requested information.
  • Include details about the nominee’s professional achievements, contributions to their organization, service to KAPPP, and impact on the public procurement profession.
  • Submit the form by the designated deadline in the Fall.

Awards Selection

The Awards Chair reviews all nominations for completeness and prepares them for the KAPPP Board’s consideration.

The Board evaluates nominees based on:

  • Contributions to KAPPP and the organization they serve
  • Impact on the public procurement profession and service to NIGP
  • Positive influence through volunteer efforts, leadership, or community service

The Board determines the award recipients and presents the awards. Nominators and nominees will be notified following the Board’s decision.

KAPPP AWARD PROGRAM

KAPPP recognizes the achievements and contributions of its members with several annual awards.   Be on the lookout for a communication in the summer season for how to apply for these annual awards and recognitions.


Available Awards

Manager of the Year

Awarded to a KAPPP member from the rank and file of Purchasing Manager or Supervisor as selected by the designated committee, it honors the individual who demonstrates outstanding professionalism and has contributed significantly to the field of public purchasing during the calendar year.

Buyer of the Year

This recognition is presented to an KAPPP member from the rank and file of Buyer or Purchaser as selected by the designated committee. It is awarded annually to the individual who demonstrates outstanding professionalism and has contributed significantly to the field of public purchasing during the calendar year.
Volunteer of the Year
This award shall be presented to an KAPPP member who have made a significant difference in the success of KAPPP by:
  • providing a needed service to KAPPP
  • exceeding the expectations of the chapter
  • demonstrating that an initiative was instrumental in the development of programs, ideas or methods to solve problems and/or enhance KAPPP's strategic goals and objectives
  • displaying character that has made a positive difference to the membership
  • providing an activity or service which resulted in positive changes for the chapter
