Scholarship Opportunities

We are here to assist with financial support for your professional development activities. This program is intended for KAPPP members who are in need of financial assistance to attend a KAPPP/NIGP-sponsored meeting or seminar. The financial support is offered in many ways and can assist with a portion of the expenses or possibly cover the entire amount! Available to any person who has been a member for a minimum of one year. Applicants are only eligible to receive assistance once in a calendar year.

General Scholarship Program

This program is intended for KAPPP members employed in the public procurement profession that are not new professionals or young professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • KAPPP member must be in good standing, and must be a member for a minimum of one year.

  • Financial support must be used to attend KAPPP/NIGP sponsored meetings, seminars, courses, workshops and/or forums and certification classes.  The support may also cover certification application fees. Participation in the event must contribute to the professional development of the individual.

  • Applications are reviewed by the KAPPP Executive Board. The Board will determine the number of applications to review and deem successful applicants. 

  • If you or your entity is selected, a letter is required to explain your educational experience and what benefit your attendance at the proposed KAPPP/NIGP educational offering will provided to you and/or your entity.

  • Program recipients of this award are encouraged to assist in preparation and/or organize at least one (1) KAPPP chapter meeting or seminar in the year following receipt of scholarship.


New Professional Scholarship Program

This program is intended for new KAPPP members employed in the public procurement profession with experience of 3 years or less.

  • Financial support must be used to attend KAPPP/NIGP sponsored meetings, seminars, courses, workshops and/or forums and certification classes.  The support may also cover certification application fees. Participation in the event must contribute to the professional development of the individual.

  • Applications are reviewed by the KAPPP Executive Board. The Board will determine the number of applications to review and deem successful applicants. 

  • If you or your entity is selected, a letter is required to explain your educational experience and what benefit your attendance at the proposed KAPPP/NIGP educational offering will provided to you and/or your entity.

Young Professional Scholarship Program

This program is intended for new KAPPP members under 40 years of age.

Participation in the event must contribute to the professional development of the individual.
